Hi - perfect summer days

Post by Westy » Sun Aug 05, 2018 4:01 pm

Hi, just joined but have had my Z4 for nearly 3 years. It makes me smile every time I drive it. Enjoying the rain free summer, however my roof motor has stopped working properly! :( We are lifting manually when we need to, but investigating how to fix it without a hefty BMW garage bill! Has anybody got any recommendations?

Welcome to the forum, if you search on here, there are loads of threads about roof issues. Put your location on as we have forum members around the country who repair and relocate the roof motor.
Well done on the photo :)

+1

They’ll relocate it to the boot, not where all the rain collects for you to grow plants.

Oh & welcome...

Thank you all for welcome and advice. Planning on visiting zedfest this year so can hopefully see what a motor relocation looks like there. We have kept the car garaged and tried to avoid any rain as we were aware of potential water logging of the motor so very annoyed that despite TLC motor has gone.
But never mind, as someone said, 'This is not a problem, it is a solution opportunity!'

You can get your motor moved at Zedfest, one of the forum roof gurus does this service on the day. Why not stay over the night before. There are plenty of us staying at the Link hotel or you can camp out at the venue. There is an evening meal planned at the Link too :)
