Hello,
I'm a new to the Z platform, never thought i'd want to drive one, until I drove one as a valet, it was a 3.0si 6-spped convertible, and I was hooked, that was summer of 2017. I really wanted a coupe but personally I prefer the look, and I do not like convertibles in general, one reason is I like to work on my own cars and I don't want to deal with the soft top's maintenance. I also wanted to make sure I got the Sport package because I heard the Seats alone made it worth it. So kept a watchful eye on all the car sites and craigslist across the United States.
We fast forward to this past weekend in July, I found one north of Nashville, TN. Car had 4 owners, spending a majority of its time in New Jersey. When I found it, there was barely 64.5k miles (103k KM) I contacted the seller and arranged to get it inspected and then flew down to make the final offer. When I landed in Nashville, the seller picked me up and let me drive the car. I inspected it myself, and couldn't find a flaw in the paint, and the engine bay had been meticulously cleaned as well. I decided to buy it, it was being sold for a fair price, and I spent the night in Nashville, and then drove the 12.5hr and 850mi home the next day. The entire trip I fell more and more in love with the car. I have owned 3 e46s already and enjoyed those cars but its comparing apples and oranges.
Getting it home I've been able to get the Hands free (early bluetooth) working, found a previous owner installed a RJ11 power converter in the glove box for wiring in a radar detector. This is the first sub 150k mile car I've owned and so I am on the fence about how much I should enjoy the car but still baby it.
