Looking to buy Z4

Post by omar123 » Sat Jun 23, 2018 12:25 pm

I am looking to buy a z4 (2.0L 2006ish model), however i know next to nothing about what i should look out for when inspecting one of them.

can someone give me the run down of the basics of what i should look for?

Also what is considered as high mileage? 70k? 80k?

thank you

Buyers Guide: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21281
If looked after they will sail past 100k
(2.0 Zeds are prone to throwing up engine management warning lights that are difficult to diagnose/clear)

Depending on price and a chat with the owner, I wouldn't discount them. However, if you're set on a 2 litre there are lots of cars out there if you're prepared to travel (which you should be imo) so hold out for full service history and a file full of receipts from past owners

I had a 2.0i with over 140k. Only sold it as I bought the 3.0i as,I was fed up of having to rag it to make it go.

Take a good look at the buyers guide. Mileage certainly is not everything when buying a Z4. 3.0 SI is the best bang for your buck. Happy hunting and welcome aboard.
