New Owner of Z4M
Hello All,
Been on the lookout for a Z4M roadster for a while, was struggling to find anything locally (Warwick), took a punt on seeing one whilst visiting the family up in Manchester, sadly it turned out to be very much unloved, much to the contrary of what I had been promised by the dealer. Fortunately I had spotted an ad on here for one not too far away that I squeezed in early in the morning before. I was smitten with the Imola Red and the the deal was done the day later and I drove back up to collect.
So far absolutely loving my first week of ownership!
Couple of bits and pieces I want to get sorted, think I I’ve already sorted a small oil leak on the CCT and have some rear top mounts on the way. Then next priority is a wheel refurb, that is if I can decide if I want to stick with OEM silver or change the colour, hmmm.

Hi and welcome.
Personally I’d stick with silver on the wheels.

Cheers I am certainly hoping so. Chris did seem genuinely sad to see it go (which is always a good sign) and it was nice to see all the history and work he had done previously. Completely different to the silver one I went to see.
To be honest I was leaning towards silver for the wheels, but was wondering if a slightly darker shade might go well.

They’d be alright as you can still see the spokes clearly, but Lynchy has some, so I’d advise the OP to pass on the one.

In my humble opinion it just seemed a bit scruffy and un cared for, it’s priced low but it was covered in knocks and marks. Needs an inspection 2 with a history that I didn’t have huge confidence in (also the service book looked like it had lived in a puddle for quite a while), and probably rear tyres and front discs very soon.
I also thought there was an odd noise from the head when going on and off the throttle. However I am by no means an expert so of course I could be wrong.

Don’t worry about it Christian, despite some people thinking these cars will self destruct if not treated with cotton wool gloves they’re robust strong motors, any scruffy bodywork is easily dealt with, no more worrying than any car. It might need the vanos seals doing, or valve clearances, but these won’t lead to melt down, only lack of oil or a spun bearing is cause for real concern unless it sounds like a pissed off cornered rattlesnake.
Worth having checked over for vanos and valves then enjoy, they’re mad as a box of frogs...!!
