Oh wow, Ok how do you do that?
That may be worth considering actually, I kind of feel I'd like it to be left quite pure but a few subtle changes for the better can't hurt
Oh, actually!!!! Cup holders, that has to happen soon too, maybe I'll just start a list... I'm actually tempted to document what I do and costs just for fun and reference in case anyone on here might be interested also. ~ Love a project me

Hi Tia,
I went for a stealth set from HID's4u.com link here :
https://www.hids4u.co.uk/H7-HIDS4U-Stea ... n-Kit.html
They were £85 delivered and as the bulb is the same for low beam and high beam I bought 2 sets of the same.
Now, I had concerns because I have in the past bought a "slim" ballast from eBay and they blew in a matter of days but everything I've had from HIDS4U has been super quality and very fast delivery so the cost is re-assuring me.
Now, to answer your ease of install question... they are very straight forward wire wise and technically super simple you can't mess it up, however fiddly is not the word... I had to pretty much concertina my fingers to get the clips to keep the main beams in and the low beams are like trying to fit a razor into the base of a pringles tube without cutting yourself.... Nightmare!! ~ took me 2 hours to do one side and I left the other side to look forward to tonight.
So yea... totally worth it tho

There are a few stipulations.
* Self levelling projector bulbs (usually garage don't check self leveling part)
* Headlight washers
* Colour is within range (I use 4500k - 6000k)
If any garage has an issue you can tell them to put the halogens back in til it passes and then swap em back, just don't put them into reflector housings because that is dangerous and you will glare and dazzle oncoming cars and most likely get pulled over.
I don't mind bending rules but I wouldn't be happy doing anything which endangers anyone.
Suppose I should say this is for info purposes only etc etc in case some pc warrior wants to point the blamey finger.

question...
how did you get the hid's to fit with the stupid clip on/push on bracket that the z4 has for the h7 bulb?

Ok this was an absolute nightmare to be honest with you and took some bending of the new clips that come with the hid set, they are not an exact match. I did put a little bit of superglue on one side once they were in to be sure they wouldn't pop out on a bad bump.
It's super fiddly the first time, my biggest issue was actually getting the plastic back on to cover the back of the housing but it was totally worth it.
I went for 6000k LED sides, 6000K 50w HIDs main beam and 6000K LEDs for full beam ( the ones that have a fan and heat sink on the back but this means they don't fit in any clips at all so I did use the rest of the superglue to fit these) Not ideal I know but it's been a few months and all working perfectly, I did plan on changing the housing for the angel eye ones at some point so I'm not too fussed. Here's how it looks now.
and yes I've changed my plate but its the same car lol
