Still looking, but a question...
Hi. I am not yet an owner but have been lurking on the forum and test driving over the last few weeks. The Coupe is the one for me: I have drooled over that shape for decade. Now it's time. If I can persuade my shorter half.
Just me and the wife, so 2 seats should be enough, but she worries about luggage space and reaching the pedals. Can the seats adjust enough for a 5"3' driver? We had a 330ci a few years ago, which was ok with a cushion behind her back! Thinking electric M Sport seats.
Anyone know? I have assured her a couple of average suitcases will fit easily.

Great cars either 86 or 86 but if buying with the lady in mind then worth considering the auto by no means a slouch or a lesser model , my wife has no fear driving them but manuals she isn't keen on

Mine says she's happier with a manual, but sometimes I wonder if an auto would suit her better...but lets not go there.

Anyway, didn't I see a shot of her in the driving seat of your M in the gallery somewhere?

Welcome OP - Coupe is a great choice (but I'm probably biased).
I can't tell you if the seats will work for someone 5'3" as Mrs Tidy has never driven mine, but maybe next time you have a test drive you ought to see if she can get the seat somewhere comfortable for her.
If she can you should find the electric seats with 3 memory settings that all UK-Spec Coupes had as standard a bonus (even the ones with the "Sport" seats, although you probably don't want those)!
You definitely ought to get a couple of reasonable-sized suitcases in the boot.
Good luck finding the right one.

Hi Matt, welcome aboard.
My wife drives the Zed occasionally, but she's not a fan of the view over that lovely long bonnet, from the drivers seat. I would get your Mrs behind the wheel for a test drive and make sure she can see enough of the road ahead to comfortably drive the car.
Mrs G is getting an Mx5 after driving our son's.

Sure she’ll be fine, I’m only 5’ 2” and can see over the bonnet well enough.

Plenty of room for luggage in both forms. We go away regularly in either and get all the bits we need in, and room left for Mrs to fill with shopping. Auto is so easy, but manual makes me grin more, especially when blipping for a smooth downshift!!!

The problem is getting her to the car, as holidays looming and it's some distance away (the one I've got my eye on). I may just wing it. She can always take the Panda

I do love a blip. Just gotta learn to combine it with the braking and the Z has just the right spaced pedals....Z4 COUPSTER wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 8:12 pm Plenty of room for luggage in both forms. If you want to try an auto and a manual together come to see me in Wales and you and the Mrs can try both. No problem and a Roadster and Coupe.
No chance of a wrong choice then.

Mrs Rusty who is 5,4 has driven both the E85 and E89 that I have the pleasure of owning, she much prefers the E85 as she says the bonnet is more manageable (whatever that means) and can get the seat in a much better height position than the E89, they are the M Sport Seats, don’t know if they are different to standard
As for luggage space E85 wins hands down, you can get a couple of regular cases in it no problem, with the E89 you can get two reasonable toothbrushes in the boot

Looking forward to pics. You’ve done well to find a white coupe, there can’t be many of those around
