Hi

Post by Smelf36 » Sun May 13, 2018 3:12 pm

Hi all, new to the forum so thought it polite to say hello.
Im a Z4 wannabe, currently looking to buy my first.
Im looking at the new shape model and have seen a 2011 2.5 M sport with all the bells and whistles, including the sat nav system, which seems to be a rare as rocking horse poo (can inly assume it was an expensive option when new) My only concern is the mileage, 89000, seems a bit high to me. Is this a problem do you think?
Any known problems with higher mileage cars?
Dealer is asking £10925,
Any Thoughts??
Cheers

Hello you. Doesn't sound expensive, but a good idea to check how many owners and history. I'm not to versed on the new Z4 but in general those things should help. Also look at condition wear and tear inside and out. If most miles have been motorway it should look like new inside, with a lot of stonechips on the outside. Condition is the key and history.
Hope this helps

Pics look good, but you can’t really tell till you see it in the flesh. Trouble is it a fair distance from me, so don’t wanna traipse a long way unless it’s worth it

Ask dealer number of owners and what history is like...pics be good....also check the MOT history online...again a good indication of what's been done.....and ask the dealer to prep vehicle for you to drive away the same day..i.e MOT, service etc...give then a small deposit and confirm that if for any reason it's not as described it drives shite you get it back. Then you can roll...and get a little discount ofcourse or a full tank of go juice!

If the service history is good, mileage wouldn’t bother me, obviously take it for a test drive and give it a good look over alas suggested get them to mot and sevice it

Btw where is the car? There maybe someone on here who is local to it and could or would take a look. You can't get better than that, before you go for yourself.

Welcome to the forum OP.

I think if you do the checks others have suggested that is probably more important than the mileage.

I'm pretty sure that one has the 2.5 litre N52 engine - I recently bought an E91 325i with the same engine and it's done 133,000 miles so it's still got plenty of life in it!
Coupes because stunning!

Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Nice one, thanks folks. Pretty reassuring on the mileage front, and I’ll get them to email the other checks to me, maybe see if they can do a video - sometimes more revealing!
Ill let you now how I get on, not in any particular rush (as far as my wife is concerned anyway - actually I’m as excited and impatient as f..k to get one  )
