I bought a Z4
I am copying this from another forum from last month since I just found this forum
So i recently eliminated a decent chunk of monthly payments and expenses I had so I was looking around and I wanted to add another daily driver to my fleet.
I got a pre-qualification from my lender and got to searching. I found almost nothing in the nashville area but found a dealer in atlanta that had 4.
I went down with 2 primary candidates.
A 2006 black on black with 77k
And a 2009 silver on black with 44k
I talked my buddy into sriving me down to ATL (about 4 hrs)
I also looked at a few others but once I saw the z4's I knew I wanted one of them.
The choice was made easier by the fact that I could not fit in the 2006.
There was a point to the dash and that went right into my knee no matter how I adjusted the seat.
So I went with the 2009
It is a 2009 35i
I enjoyed the ride back.... mostly
There are a few issues
There is a problem with the headlights that the lows are aimed about 4 feet in front of the car
I had the same issue with my e90 and it was the connecting rod on the front sensor was slightly bent and had popped off.
So I looked at the sensors on this car but sadly i couldnt find any good images of them.
I think this is the issu and i believe the arm should be turned 180 degrees and go to the right not the left and the sensor arm and the rod shouldnt be bent/twisted like they are.
If someone could chime in if I am correct or not I would be very grateful.
The other issue appears to be the passenger seat mat sensor and when someone gets in the passenger seat i get a seat belt and airbag warning.
I again had this with the e90 and all i did was code the car to not look for the mat sensor and the issue was resolve...just no small children in the passenger seat.
If more images of the car are wanted just let me know and I will get some snapped!
and again thank you for reading.

Welcome mate - have to say I'm surprised you couldn't fit in to the E85 - I'm 6'7" and fitted okay in my old E85 - having said that choosing a 35i was the right choice

The E89 35i is a great car by all accounts - well done, I'm sure you will get those minor niggles ironed out. Enjoy

Welcome to the forum Lothar.
Lovely looking E89 - and those wheels look particularly good.
Just out of curiosity, is yours an auto or a stick-shift?
Good luck getting the lights sorted.

7 spd dct. It is my first DCT car. My 330i is a 6 spd manual. So far the DCT is an adjustment but no real issues. The shift paddles are a bit weird.

It didnt help but the big issue was my right knee hitting the dash.
