Newbie coupie!!

Post by Johnnyz4coupe » Sun Mar 18, 2018 1:50 pm

Hi all

I thought I’d stop by and say hi.

I brought my coupe for my 38th birthday last year. I had always wanted one but it was hard to find a good one with good miles and service history.

I finally found one at Maundrells in Wantage and paid top end for it, it’s fair to say. But it was all worth it.

The cars totally standard at the mo. I’ve just ordered some new alloys (my old ones will be for sale very soon!) and have some lowering springs ready to put on. Oh, and I’ve changed the badges to carbon fibre effect!!
I’ve also removed those foam things in the sound pipe. I did this as soon as I got it home!!

Next up is the exhaust. I was just about to order the Eissenman pro race back box system, but after seeing DLV’s box of tricks, I’m very tempted to go for that! (Contact me suck lake view please).

I’m not new to car modding. I built a classic mini with a blow through supercharger and almost all the panels were converted to carbon fibre.

But I’ve decided to just be a bit more subtle!!

I only ever run my cars on shell v-power and honestly do believe it makes a difference..............to my bank balance!

Thanks for stopping by and making me feel welcome!

Hi mate

Not sure how many coupes are in Swindon, but the life controller said she sees another black coupe on the delta business park every day!

Welcome!

I too looked at that car before I bought my coupe last August, but as you say it was top money and I didn’t find the sales staff especially enthusiastic to shift it despite it gathering dust in their showroom (or would be warehouse a more accurate description?).

There are at least four now. Yours , mine , a Monaco blue that belongs to one of the BMW service people and the mysterious black machine which I have been behind on a few occasions. I used to work in Delta Park and still drive through there every morning I'll have to have a nosey. I did once give a wave but the guy looked at me as though I was from another planet :(

WORST colour to keep clean but looks great when it is!! Have given it a few machine polishes to get it up to the finish it is now. I've emailed a few firms today to quote for wraps!
