I part-exchanged my MX 5 mark 3 for a 2.5 litre Z4 and I don't regret it. The MX 5 was good fun, but the Z4 has better performance and does the job without noise and fuss; it is more refined.
If you find a Z4 with runflat tyres you will need to get rid of them and fit conventional tyres. The ride is far superior. I had a set of Uniroyal Rainsports fitted for £360. It was money well spent.
