Z4 2003 2.5i e85 starter wires bridging
Hi. Had a drive with my z and its flying however, with my problems that i had with the battery, alternator not charging , starter only clicking i found that the problems come from the ews, the starter wire turning the starter has 8v and.come from the ews, the other wire comes from ignition has 12v and is connected to the solenoid of starter, my question is : can i bridge the ignition wire at solenoid, with the starter wire bypassing the ews wire , in other word bridge black small wire the the yellow wire on starter, hope this wil work until the ews is sorted.

Problem is, the EWS sends a coded signal to the engine management ECU, a "start" signal. If you bypass the EWS, this won't be sent and the ECU will not activate the coils, injectors of fuel pump.

Thanx the reason for this is my solenoid of starter kiks but the starter would not turn, the schematics shows the solenoid.wire (x6510) come from the ignition and the starter wire comes from the ews (x6511), if the car is pushed, it starts quick , starter was tested nothing wrong.

More than likely the switch on the back of the ignition - VERY common and cheap fault to fix.

..as already mentioned here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 4#p1508854
Honestly, if your starter solenoid is clicking when you turn ignition to pos 3, I doubt it is an EWS problem.
