Hi all,
Joined the forum and already gained a lot of knowledge from it before my imminent Z4 purchase. Actively looking....2.5si preferably but keeping an open mind as all engine options seem to get good reviews.
Looking forward to getting involved!
Cheers
Mike

Welcome to the forum mike, the facelift 2.5si is a pretty rapid car but the 3litre is gruntier with virtually the same economy-have you considered the 3.0si?

Welcome!
3.0si were generally better spec'd from the factory as well. Xenon headlights are worth having, for example, and are not as common on the 2.5si.
There is not a lot of difference between the two engines on the road, so I would consider both, up until the point at which you start going to see individual examples.
Good advice.

I purchased a 23i earlier in 2017 and have loved every minute of it. Had a 1000 mile trip to Yorkshire and back in September and found it comfortable and surprisingly frugal on fuel.
Not sure where you are but James Paul in Sussex have an 09 23i for sale with only 31k miles on the clock, or if you really want something different they also have an Alpina 3.4 s z4 in hell red for sale. You may have to be quick on that one as I am seriously thinking of trading up, the Alpina does it for me.
