To wave or not to wave...?
I have to say, I have found Z4s in my neck of the woods very unresponsive to headlight flashing or waves. In around 12 attempts I have only had 2 responded.
In some instances they wont even let you out in a queue. This morning I needed to take a detour due to a RTA I ended up needing to take a RH turn on a busy road filled with cars doing around 40mph but only 2 cars length apart. At one point the traffic to might right cleared and around 500 yds down the on the LHS road I spotted a Z4. My immediate thoughts were "at last someone who will let me out". Got that one wrong, despite the RHS being clear he just sailed past looking at me and as he passed me turned to his passenger and laughed (possibly because I had my hood down and his was up!). Pretty unfriendly IMHO.
When I am in my mini I always let another mini out and often others do the same!

And I was going to add to my post ‘unless it’s had model deletion’
Yes, you’d still get a wave/flash

I don't have mine either! In all honesty you're quite unlikely to be flashed from behind, its normally always oncoming traffic.

Let’s not get picky, I agree you would not wave/flash from behind, however you may acknowledge with a ‘nod’ if the other person makes eye contact. Badge/no badge still gets a wave/flash from me, if I see it in time.

Likewise.
Alternatively if I pass someone I know (or even pass someone who's just flashed me - not happened for the forum yet) I'll pop my hazards on for one second in acknowledgement

To wave or not to wave...?
This is the reaction I always get! lol
But one day! yes just one day! I may get a wave back... maybe it just needs to be a bit more sunny to provoke a reaction, who knows?!
After all we BMW drivers do have a fierce reputation for being assholes. deserved or undeserved.

I'm not fussed the reaction I get. Wave well in advance and be confident and most will respond well. That seems to be the way up North as it tends to be like minded Owners Club cars scooting around here.

Well today I passed a lovely lady coming the other way in a white E89 on the A20, both stuck in traffic, and guess what, she was waving at me, so I waved back,,, there is a god

She waved? Your profile picture is almost exactly mirroring my own facial expression.

To wave or not to wave...?
When my good ladyfriend Laura is in the zed with me and the top's down she goes waving like a mentalist at other passing zed's.
However, it's not in the spirit of cameraderie or being friendly to other zed owners. No, it's more in the spirit of taking the p!ss out of me from when she caught me waving to another zed
'jesus, it's not like ur in a beetle or something!' she said. It became a point of contention and now she has to completely overdo it. Grrr
I can forgive her very easily tho. Now it's just vaguely amusing
