Odometer digits

Post by Stuart57 » Fri Apr 16, 2021 2:08 pm

Hi Thanks for accepting me on this forum, I have just acquired a rather neglected 2005 Z4 that I am cleaning up to use this summer I've always wanted one so keen to get on the road.
I will probably have many more questions but this one is bugging me. My odometer reading is 1100 12 the space between the zero and 1 looks odd? If there is a digit missing it means the cars done over a million miles as I know the previous owner I know that's not the case. Am I correct in thinking that the space will go when the digit turns to a 2,4 or 8 ect?
One other question what is that string pull in the boot?
I could ask the previous owner these questions, but he is clueless and totally disinterested in the car.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Kind regards Stuart

Hi Stuart welcome to the forum why not post some pics of your car - we like that.

Some of the spacing can look a little odd but not to the point where its bothered me - it'll be a 2 in eight miles so get it down the road and find out :driving:

Welcome to the madhouse.
As previously suggested, it's just enticing you to get a few more miles on.
Or there's a digit gone out, in which case, congratulations on being the first to pass a million miles :D
