Hi everyone!
I've been lucky to find a relatively low mileage 3.0si roadster - I did a little write up on Pistonheads, and a few people directed me this way.
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/top ... &t=1745266
Collective forum knowledge is usually way more valuable than any dealership!
My first little job is to retrofit cruise, as I rather stupidly thought the multifunction steering wheel meant it had cruise (as it was with the e46s) - and I do tend to waft about on the motorway a bit.
I've heard rumour there's someone on the forum who makes up the bit of loom needed for the facelift cars? I'm off to nose about on the forum a little, and read up a bit more!

Welcome, cruise is possible, loom should still be available from dealers. If you're not comfortable installing yourself there are a few members who do it.
3.0si Sport: F10 Illuminated ZHP, Retrofit Cruise, OE Stubby, Gaptech RCH+, Kenwood BT73DAB + Handsfree, HIDs, LED Sidelights, OE LED Number Plate Lights, Custom LED strip bootlight.

Welcome to the madhouse - I was one of those responsible!
By the way I don't think you can use the private messages facility until you've made a certain numbers of posts, but I can't remember if it is 3 or 5.
But if you mention it again on here SRHutch may read it and contact you.
Good luck getting it done. I use cruise mostly when there are average speed cameras!
Coupes because stunning!

So it shouldn't be a problem then once you've got the stalk and the section of wiring. As I understand it the position for the stalk is marked on the inside of the steering column cowl when you take it off.
For the stalk it's either BMW or a breaker probably, but it might be worth doing a bit of research on realoem as the stalk on my E91 and on the E87 I had look the same - and my be cheaper/easier to find.

Hi and welcome Fordo. Not been here long myself, but finding it a useful place. I also commented on your Pistonheads thread. I’m pstruck over there, but have a feeling I’ll be spending less and less time on PH and more on here now!

Hi and Welcome Aboard!
Just read your P/H thread, a nice little read. Got to agree with most of what you said and I certainly agree about the black wheels etc.
Cruise control wise IIRC from when I did mine (bear in mind its nearly three years ago now) the stalk is specific to the E85/6 making it harder to source used and pricier. In the end I decided for the little difference it made between used and trade from the dealers it wasn't worth paying the generally inflated used prices that E85/6 parts attract. If you dont already get trade pricing etc from a BMW dealer give Sophers BMW in Lincoln a call. they give a discount if you mention the forum which in most cases seems to be pretty close to trade.
As others have said you dont need a new cowl, as its marked to show you where to cut (its what I did with mine).
I'll drop SRHutch a pm with a link to this thread to make him aware you interested in a loom. Although you cant PM him yet, he can PM you.
