Rebuilding a community

Post by sp3ctre » Thu Jun 14, 2007 9:05 pm

Some of you will know me from the old z4um days, and some of you won;t know me at all. Anyway, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Jim and I setup this forum as a replacement for z4um. I offered to help rebuild that site and nobody seemed interested. It is such a shame as it was a great community.

I am hoping that in time we can get some of that international banter back on this site, and rebuild the community of old. It will be a slow start but I think we can get there, but for that I will need help.

If you know of anybody from the old board who would want to join up, please give them a shout, and also if you have skills on design I am sure I could use some help with skinning this site too. In fact any offers of help would be gratefully appreciated!

The biggest thing I need right now is members and posts... please spread the word (not openly posting on other forums, that's bad form) and help us get some members, then we can get this place kickin and get us back to the rapid response forum we had before.

Many thanks!

You may want to make a (subtle) announcement on http://www.zed-cars.eu. ;)
Cheers,

Thanks... tell all your friends! Need all the help we can get at the moment, but hopefully we're going to give the technical article's a push in the next week and see if we can get some more people on here!

Shame I wasn't in contact with more of the old z4um community, some of them are kicking around other forums, but a lot have disappeared!

Thanks for doing this for us. I toyed with the idea, and even setup a forum ( http://www.mymroadster.com/forum ) ... but never really spent the time to do get it going. I applaud you for taking the time and effort to get this going --- I know how much work it is.

From the looks of it, you have a good start - I think this will be a success.

Cheers, Dave

Jim, Thanks so very very much for putting this forum together. I know I had so much fun and met so many awesome people and learned so much about my Zed on the old forum and it's just wonderful that a similar forum is back!!! So a HUGE Thanks from this side of the pond!

sp3ctre -
Hey Jim... looks like you've been busy here :)
This sure has a familiar look & feel.

After browsing through the site, I'm happy to see this community thread.
I urge all to remember the forum community as well as the Z4 community.
While "certain" forums have been a little pissy about things, there are also others that have been very open & accepting to us orphans.

Jim I applaud you in the way you are approaching things

Nice site, sp3ctre!

One thing that bothers me (well.. not really that much) is why there isn't a picture of a Coupé beside the Roadster. Makes me feel sad. :(
