Apart from the usual anti-spammer barriers in the sign up process a little tactic may be worth trying if specific companies spam forums is to burn them on Google. use a separate thread where members can post a short piece naming the company and or product slagging off the product and sales methods as rudely as possible. Because of the way Google grades forum contributions linked to specific key words the forum and posts featuring the slated company/product will quickly rise to a high Google search ranking and appear high up in results - not what the company were hoping for
It happened to someone I know when his firm spammed a forum called tyresmoke, it wasn't pretty and they didn't do it again. The slagging remained the top result on Google for about a year! Just a thought.
