Hi admin

I got the following message after adding an attachment:

[Intention to post a 34kB warning screenshot]

As of now, I'm not allowed to post a warning screenshot of 34 kB anymore. Is this limit static for the rest of my life?

Cheers
Robbi

Was it a .png…my screenshots by default on my iOS devices are .png which give a file size error..cropping them auto converts them to .jpeg which load fine

What on earth is a "warning screenshot"? Not sure what you are doing but the max size of uploads is 8Mb

I wonder if this has any relation to the messages Tim got last night when trying to post pictures in his for sale ad. It said he was restricted to image numbers

G29 M40i Thundernight with Ivory interior, all option packs (here for a while, hopefully )
G29 M40i Misano Blue all option packs (Gone 26k of fun)
E89 35iS, Valencia Orange, Design Pure Traction pack (Gone)
    E89 23i sDrive, Silver (Gone)

Not sure... There is a limit of 10 images per post, which sounds more like that issue.

Ugh, what a warm welcome. :o

As said, I tried to upload it (1 single jpeg file with only 38 kB) to this post. This popup message, I catched as screenshot, contained a warning, that my upload of a single small jpeg exceeded a quota.

Interestingly, this restriction has gone in between.

No, mine was different last night - and I'd be interested in understanding an 'official' answer before I start trawling back through historical posts and removing attachments (as that makes new visitors to old threads a bit on the rubbish side).

8mb per picture limit I'm aware of - generally my phone takes up to around this limit depending on how busy the picture is - a quick re-size sorts it though if too big.

10 images per post - yup aware of this one too.

The message I received yesterday (after chucking about 30 odd images on my for sale post) suggested I had hit some kind of global per-user overall attachment limit. To get around it I removed some attachments from some old for-sale posts which are no longer any use to anybody - but before I start spamming the forum with posts of my new car is would be nice to know if I'm about to hit an attachment brick wall.

Sorry, wake up Tim - I had exactly the same message as Robbi has posted above.

Ok, mystery solved... there was a global limit set on the forum for total uploads. I have now raised the limit so there shouldn't be any other problems regarding that.... certainly no need to remove any attachments.
