Just think it’s charming there’s a threat of a ban for voicing an opinion
Having reflected on this, my response was a knee-jerk reaction to the fact that I spend a lot of my time on the forum dealing with spam - I was never going to ban you over this and it was petty of me to threaten you, even if it was a meant tongue in cheek. No hard feelings I hope.

He says he is on plenty of other forums, so why doesn’t he bugger off back to one of them and leave us alone.

Personally I think the MODS do a great job of clearing the spam and all the other crap they have to monitor on here so the last thing they need is abuse from some idiot that’s just joined.

Just my opinion :fuelfire:

This forum is hardly full of spam... and if I see it I just do what any decent forum member would do and report it using the option in the post. Usually at about 6am on the train

I am sure that helps flag it so it’s easier for the mods to do their job, right ? It’s a community, not a nursery...
Current... Silver Grey ///M Roadster, non-flimper spec, Imola Red nappa, permanent ear-to-ear grin 8)

Previous... 3.0Si Sport Roadster, Black Sapphire, Dream Red leather with lots of toys and lots of mods...

Its a perception vis reality thing - if you use the 'new posts' page as your landing page (and I guess most of us do) then you are only going to see new posts which is where the spam is going to be until its deleted and because its new then there's a good chance that members will see it before the mods. I logged in in a couple of mornings ago a few minutes behind a spammer who had made multiple posts. So I didn't open those with that user name - even if the title hadn't been a give away in the first place

You don't pick up every piece of paper you find in the street and read it nor do you HAVE to open every post if it looks rubbish then walk on by. I'd rather make my own decisions about what I read (and remember not to comment on spam posts) than have to wait and be vetted to join the forum and have posting rights - because that's the option available for slowing down (not stopping) spammers.

...and while I'm here I would rather skip posts and read full sentences than have the text speak and insults that fly around on other forums. Nothing wrong here M8

Ouch

No worries Marlon, my post wasn’t overly serious to begin with. Seems I’ve rubbed a few up the wrong way with my ‘stinking attitude’

I’m really surprised at the hate here :o

Reason I’m here is I bought a Z4 and reading up and learning about as much as I can. My original post wasn’t overly serious but has been taken the wrong way

There's only love on here man!

The responses you received were in support of the mods who, IMHO, do a great job and spam disappears very quickly here and your original post seemed to be attacking the way they do their (unpaid) job on here.

There was no way to tell your "original post wasn't overly serious".

Maybe have a little think about how your post may come across in future and you will feel the love as well!

....I also disagree that there are other more active forums than this. Well not in terms of the Z4 anyway. Anyhow, it’s quality that counts, not quantity

The only hate here is what you have brought on yourself.
Normally this is a pleasant place to be where we have each other’s backs until the very few step out of line then god help them.
Be nice to people and you will reap the rewards.
