MrPT wrote:Thinking about it. How are yours holding up? Went with your recommendation, actually - Wicked Coatings - for the dash and they've done a great job, but it's lacquered, not hydrodipped. I'm guessing the plastic bits would have to be dipped.ranski wrote:Get the Roll hoops and door handles finished in piano black
1 year on, both the dash, door handles and roll hoops are as they were, apart from a few scratch's from using the wrong cleaning cloth (mine also have lacquer layer on top of the piano black)

Re: Piano black dash retrofitted today
Thats pretty cheap tbh. I'd have expected it to be about £200!MrPT wrote:Thanks for all the comments. Don't know what it is about the aluminum - everybody likes it except Z4 owners!
£135, inc surface prep and delivery. It's a decent finish - some very light orange peel on a couple of edges, but the main surfaces are excellent. Not sure how well it will hold up, but the OEM finish isn't exactly bullet proof so I don't mind too much if it gets a little scratched.ben g wrote:If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you to get them coated?
Might email them to get mine done now. Hate the aluminium dash with a passion!

I have a plan to visit wicked coatings this winter and get all the trim, door handles, roll hoops and possibly door mirrors hydro dipped. Wondering if CF effect might be a bit much, but also thinking it might look awesome!!

Looks great but would never consider it as due to static electricity it really attracts a lot of dust

It doesn't seem to attract dust any more than the other plastics in the car - it's just more noticeable on the glossy finish.Bad_Pritt wrote:Looks great but would never consider it as due to static electricity it really attracts a lot of dust
I simply wipe mine with a dampened microfibre cloth and a spritz of quick detailer.

Very nice sir! A good job done!
On another point...where are your mats from please?
These look very good for keeping the winter filth at bay!

They are the lesser spotted OEM rubber mats. There must be a few sets knocking around somewhere. Maybe try the parts department of Sopers of Lincoln - normally very forum-friendly.Wyldie85 wrote:On another point...where are your mats from please?

They are excellent mats but have one stupid feature. The bit which suffers the most abuse - the bit under the driver's heels - is inexplicably covered by a small section of carpet.
Yes Dan. Didn't take me very long to do something with it, did it?!Danderton wrote:Looks awesome mate. Is that the spare dash set I sold you last year?
