Black Wheels - yes or no?

Post by Zed Five » Wed Jun 04, 2014 9:14 pm

I've decided to plastidip the wheels on one side of my e89 and live with it for a week or so. (hey, you only see one side of the car at a time eh?)

The car is Space grey. - now with black grills, so i'm sort of getting pulled towards a 'stealthy look'

What our opinion on black wheels? (matt, or gloss, or either will look s**t?) :?

You do lose the definition of the wheel style once blacked but that,s not to say black wheel,s don,t look good on certain car,s
I have gloss black 18,s on my white Astravan & love the look , i had black 224,s on my 330d E91 & loved the look , black Ronal,s on my V6 TT & loved the look but i fitted graphite grey to my black A6 Avant & it looked 5hite :P they were off & gone within 10 days so your plastidip idea isn,t a bad one at all .
It,s all about the car, the paint & the wheel style IMO

Was thinking of getting mine done and Perry photoshopped various shades for me...

But having seen black wheels on a white e89 last week on here I think I'm going to stick with the stock silver.

Useful pcs. - thanks.

I think that as I've had my Z for over 3 year now, I just want some sort of change (to look different from stock bmw wheels) - to keep my interest in the car for a few more months. Plastidip does seem like the best option for a trial.

Yes, same wheels. I saw this thread. - it was lucky timing for me (grills and wheels). I think that they may look more subtle on space grey, - but who knows?

- (how long does plastidip need to be on before you can tear off again!?! )
