Whistling from under dash stops when breaking

Post by ThePhile » Sun Jul 28, 2013 12:49 am

Hello from a new member

For the last five years Ive had an intermittent problem with my 2003, I get a whistle from the driver side under the dash. The whistle stops when I apply the breaks and returns when I release the breaks. It will slowly quite down as I accelerate and stop when I increase speed. At times I will not hear it for weeks and then return. The car just turned 60K. Any Ideas

Only at low speeds about 35 MPH or lower

Hello new member! Do you have pix of your car? Would love to see. Not sure about the whistle. I am a new owner of a 2005 so cant help you there.

It might do it at times at higher speeds but because of road noise I do not hear it. I also hear it for about 20 seconds when I turn off the engine which at times can be a little louder.
