Nice weather for it!
Not!
My introduction to Z4 ownership hasn't been bathed in sunshine and warm temperatures unfortunately but I'm sure that is about to change shortly
I've been toying with the idea of buying a cheapish convertible for a while but to be honest I wasn't entirely sure what to buy. Performance wasn't an issue as I've got a weekend toy in the garage for that (BMW) so after looking at the usual suspects such as the s2000, mx5 etc alongside the Z4 it was the BMW that won through. I think it was the six cylinder smoothness which won.
On to the car, it's a 54 plate 2.2se and the pic below is from the advertisement. It's in pretty good condition and just needed a good clean and just the usual checks. The roof motor has been replaced by BMW and I'll be doing the drain check at some point over the weekend. Enjoying it so far although I've probably driven it less than twenty miles so plenty of time for unknown niggles/faults to show up yet.
And a few of you might be interested in its companion
Great forum and I've really enjoyed soaking up lots of knowledge over the last few weeks.

The coupe was a car I've always wanted to own at some point so when a friend told me he was thinking about selling his I wasn't about to let him backtrack

Two nice cars and the coupe is an appreciating classic!...wish I had kept my black on black Z3M roadster, not the most critically acclaimed M car (especially on a slippery set of bends!) but I loved it all the same.
Enjoy your Z4, plenty of knowledgeable people on here for any questions you may have.

It's an S50. The S54 is a rare beast and the prices reflect that.

Re: Nice weather for it!
S50 and S54 are the codes for the engines used in the Z3M - most were the S50 which IIRC came from the E36 M3 Evo, whilst the last few made had the S54 engine from the E46 M3 and the Z4M.Jonny essex wrote:Its look like a Z3 coupe so its not then? i had a Z3 roadstar 2L in light blue 7 years ago or sojohnnyb wrote:It's an S50. Re: Nice weather for it!
the reason I am saving to get a z4mcoup is the s54 engine. I had the z3coupe with the s54 engine, still regret selling it. But it had appreciated and I made 2k on it.

Great looking car
I thought very hard about buying a track-prep'd bright yellow S50 Z3MC last year. It was low mileage and had just about every modification I would have wanted to do if I'd bought one in standard spec. It was an absolute steal at under 7K as it was a repaired Cat D, but I couldn't justify selling my practical car (a 320d) to buy yet another two seater toy! I think I regret that decision now though!
