Halfords Pressure Washer - leaking...

I recently bought a Halfords (HP 1400) Pressure Washer and I've just had to go and change out of my wet clothes after testing it out for the first time (I think you see where this is going).....

The washer is designed so that the motor only goes on when you activate the Spray gun (to conserve the motor). So when the unit detects water being requested, it activates the motor. Problem is that there appears to be a leak at the point where the Spray Gun connects to the Hose, so the motor is constantly pulsating on and off, and it varies in pressure but sometimes sprays out quite hard wetting me.

This is now the second one I have had from Halfords, the first one I took back for an exchange after getting home and finding it had been previously used, the unit was dirty and scuffed, there was water leaking out the connectors etc

Anyone else used one of these or one similar and can share any thoughts on it?

Had a karcher one a couple of years back, and a Bosch one this year that both did similar. In each case it was a seal that went - as they were out of warranty in each case, I just dismantled and replaced the o ring seal.

As above return it and get a refund, shouldn't be n issue as its the second one and buy a nilfisk.

Had a karcher one for many many years, had to repair it occasionally due to frost damage, but other than that its still going strong.. the pulsing thing is a standard on any when leaking. If its new/under warranty, get Halfords to sort it out.

Yup, but I wouldn't buy another Nilfisk, bought one last year, used it a dozen times and it died. Replacement from Amazon was DOA...

Whichever make you go for, make sure the very last drop of water is expelled after use. I had a Nilfisk C120 crack its metal pump housing due to what I presume was water freezing inside, it was a few months outside of warranty too. A new one had to be bought but now after each use I turn off the tap and squeeze the trigger until completely empty, so far so good.
