Don't do half a job, please ...
You need to do so much brushing and cleaning otherwise it will end up horrible. It is all in the preparation ...
What colour are you going for? The Halfords Red turns orange on application ...

Now you've got me....the fascia to the main part of the caliper that's rusty is quite small in area.....I will be able to rub it down and make sure it's crap free

Since your going to Halfrauds why not buy proper brake caliper paint. Red, black, silver, (blue and yellow too)
I've used it for years. Goes on easy. By the time you've painted the second caliper you can go back and do the first with a second coat.
Been on my X5 for 5 years before sold and unmarked

Cj, they don't sell silver in any of their shops, mainly blue, red and yellow

Well you live and learn - I thought I'd seen it
I've used red and they've had it for years.

The hubs are pretty rusty looking too, so I'd need to take the wheel off to do these too
