Signature Size

Over recent months the size of signature, multiple images and animation have gotten somewhat out of hand. This is detracting from the flow of posts and for certain users making page views on laptop and mobile difficult and/or slow. We have made 2 changes to the rules as well which are in red. The rules for signatures are as follows:

Signature size

Signature sizes should not exceed 600px (width) x 150px (height). This size includes any text you wish to put above or below a single picture. If you have any problem sizing your signature please contact a moderator and they will assist you.

Signatures should not contain advertising or advertising links unless previously discussed with the moderation team.

Links to personal sites and photo galleries are absolutely fine

Signatures should not contain sound or animation

The rules of the forum are at the discretion of the administration and moderation team. If you have any queries or questions please don't hesitate to ask. (This is a disclaimer.... we are quite laid back really)

We will allow a grace period until May 1. After May 1 any signature not in compliance will be subject to removal without notice. If you have any questions you should PM anyone on the moderation team.

Sure, but I think the signatures a lot of you have are very nice. This way people who appreciate the signatures can still view them without having some signatures taking over the screen.

I think this is a great idea. As a newbie, looking through the photo competition it's hard to tell what are signatures and entries!!!!
Yes, it was looking a bit messy
I'm so anal I'd have a specific size that all signature graphics has to be. By restricting it you have to get a little creative to make your's stand out. Well I am a designer!

They should also be limited to monotone/duotone/tritone/quadtone - or less than 1024bits in total size - or dithered to 4-bit

Anyway I've changed mine to a 600x64 mini-version, but it is still showing the larger one on the forum.

ETA: looks like the cache has updated itself as it's now showing the correct version.

If you really don't like them, like was suggested above, you can turn them off altogether in your profile
