Insurance Cost Z4M

Post by MKZ4000 » Mon Apr 22, 2024 4:18 pm

Got a bit of a shock with my renewal quote.

I've got a Z4M Roadster and was paying £530 for a limited mileage of 3000miles with esure. Im middle aged and got 3 yrs no claims as way of reference.

Its shot up to £838.

Can i ask what sort of amount fellow Zedders pay and who with please ?

I normally don't change if it doesn't go up much but that's too steep.

Try A Plan (Howden), they've always been good for me

That sounds a fair price, I assume middle aged and a few NCBS?

Its an impossible question to answer as everyone's circumstances are different. Just go to a comparison site and see what you get. I also cant believe people still accept their renewal without even checking out the competition. My insurance these days is half what it used to be, i change companies every year.

Try classic insurance if you have another vehicle as your daily.

Yep, 43 but only six years NCB due to company cars since I was in my early twenties. The Z4M being the first car I’ve bought since I was 18!!!
Insurance was £297 last year, this years renewal jumped to £400 but with some looking around they matched what I found elsewhere.

True, but I haven't looked around for 8 years or so as my current insurer have never really put the price up, it's gone down (slightly), and it has always seemed a fair price to me.

Caveat with them is that the car must be modified, and they tend to prefer it as a 2nd etc car, but for years I had it as the only car and it made little difference after a chat with underwriter.

My insurance renewal was £240 last August, central London postcode, lots of NCB and zero mods.

FWIW, I did look at the comparison sites and nothing else is close to renewals.

With which insurer, please? And what's the first part of your postcode, if you don't mind me asking?

I've always had decent quotes from Adrian Flux & Chris Knott. Been with the latter a few years now, I'm mid-30s, I have a few NCB Built up on this policy now, but all mods declared on a 5kmiles a year policy it's £430 a year fully-comp. I am out in the arse end of nowhere but even so, it's not wildly different to when I was in Guildford and drive-way parking the M either...

Right near you, as with last year. Check your message history!

OP, try classic insurance. It worked out great when I had a 993C2.

Ah yes indeed :D

Sadly, Hastings won't touch cars with modifications.
