Thank you.

Took the Zed to Oulton Park today, it was fantastic.
Lots of positive comments about the Zed, especially my backstory with it.
Saw some beautiful cars, nothing BMW flavored but did see this utter beast of a car. A Lister Le Mans, 7L V12, twin Supercharger, 600bhp and reported 200mph. It was a proper poster car from my youth. What a thing.
I like the way your race suit picks out the yellow in the car, a bit much for a meet but each to their own…. Anyone ever mentioned you look a bit like Richard Hammond? :scratchhead:

What a silly thing to say, he's clearly the young man stood next to Mr Hammond, though I have to say he looks quite young to be driving.

This little blue rocket was just about the right size for my boy.

It’s a Mini Marcos. Pretty sure it’s loosely based on Mini running gear, but given its pace, it can’t have been an A-series engine.

Some really nice aspects to the design, but having googled, overall that is one ugly car! You chose your angle well for that photo!

Today I finally did some work on ‘Zeds not dead’. There was damage to the front N/S wing when I bought it and the underside of the sill cover.
A few weeks ago I bought 2 doors, 2 wings and 2 sill covers along with a bumper, all in Phoenix Yellow. So today I replaced the passenger wing.
It was pretty straight forward bar one Star Drive bolt that wouldn’t budge, so had to be cut.
Colour wise it’s a pretty good match I think.
Sill cover will go on soon, but first I want to give the sills a once over. There is a tiny bit of surface rust by the front jacking point, so that has been rubbed down and anti-rust primer applied. Probably not necessary, but having had a Jag STR with sill that rott for fun under there covers, I didn’t think it would do it any harm. I need to buy various fasteners and then get it back together. I’ll most likely replace the right wing as well whilst I’m in the mood.

I’m properly enjoying getting the car nice again, it’ll never be a minter, but hopefully very night.

For some reasons yesterday’s pictures didn’t upload. Try again or the work didn’t happen.

With only 20 PY coupes registered in the UK, you were exceptionally lucky to be able to find panels. Great progress.

Looks like a good match in the photos.

It may never be a minter, but it’s a rare colour so it’s definitely worth putting the work in. Mine will never be a mint car, but it’s my daily and I wanted something that I can use, put miles on and not worry too much about destroying the value.
