Depending on which side of the fence you sit but another nail in the coffin for the traditional hot hatch

Sad indeed. :( Just so grateful to have been a driver during the petrol head years.

Didn't realise Evo still either existed to be honest. Stopped my subscription a few years back. It was all down hill, after Harry sold up.

Yes Evo are still around. Used to love going to the newsagents back in the 80s to pick the latest mag up :)

And this is the future and what the replacement N cars will sound like :headbang:

Feels like they don't want us to have any fun anymore  I feel like I got into cars right at the tail end of the best years. Yet to buy a car for fun newer than 2007, and will probably continue for a while . I feel like it's mainly Japanese brands, especially Toyota, that are the ones still flying the flag for drivers cars with a manual gearbox and proper engine

Notice it says for 'Europe'. So many parts of the world will still get decent ICE cars and pollute as much as they like, but we are being forced more into EV shiteboxes because clueless politicians think it's a good idea? :x
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

Just think it's a hidden agenda and another money making opportunity for Government to push and force electric cars on us.

Hopefully fuel will be available for years to come :)

yeah but let's be honest, the traditional hot hatch has been dead years....

YES the Honda Civic Type R was on ECOTY this year, but when a hot hatch is £50k to buy new, is is not just missing the point (Simple decent chassis, big engine, cheap fun)?

I dunno, call me old and grumpy, but the Hot hatch died a long time ago - a casualty of the human necessity for 'more'; more power, more speed, better laptimes. The fun of spanking a relatively light, relatively soft NA hot hatch down the backroads has been drowned out in the marketing department demands for 'ring laptimes.

I miss my old Peugeot 306 GTi-6

I must be on my own here, I’ve never been a fan of the shopping trolleys with big engine era.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

:o :? They are just so fast and fun, in the real world, for the money. :driving: The Fiat Coupe 20vt, was basically a hot hatch, with no hatch. I think it started as a Tipo in a dress. It could live with TVRs and embarrass E36 M3 Evo's. (When it was working) You have missed out Mike.
