I honestly think that should be reported as borderline racism. :headbang:
nationality isnt a race so it wouldnt be borderline or in any way racism
When you finally bludgeon your boot open, would you mind awfully just climbing inside and shutting it again.

Of course not. With or without Roberts in the boot, it's definitely not required.

I did the 12pin trick just last week as I was in an almost identical situation. My battery was completely dead so I used a jumper kit on the terminal under the bonnet tonite at least some charge through the car.

Then the wire on the two points of the fuse box (the black 12 pin block you need is slotted into the rear of the fusebox once you have access to it) and the boot popped open - after hours of panic and fiddling the sound of it opening was glorious.

If you need any help when doing it feel free to message me. I'm still in a mess as my FRM module is now broken I suspect, which can happen if the battery gets disconnected for too long or in other certain situations or so i I've read - hopefully this isn't the case for you. If it is there are some easy options for recoding it through eBay.

Good luck, try and enjoy your holiday for now ☺️

Would say, the E89 is not the perfect car for this task.
Even to press a tiny guy into this small trunk will be a hard piece of work.

That intention is like using the chainsaw to get INTO the trunk.
not being a good car for the task would make it a good car for the task keeping it under the radar of suspicion and the terrible design of them not being able to get out makes it a good car for the task as a lot of cars now have kidnap escapes. A small person such as yourself would easily fit inside

i 'might' have done a little dance around the car park! whilst there is good guidance on the forum on this topic already it really is a case of 'when you know, you know' sometimes because the diagram of the fusebox from the technical spec photo can be a little difficult to understand for a novice like me.

you'll need a small length of copper wire or something which will carry the charge between the two points on the fuse box.

some quick tips:

i found it much easier to remove the fusebox from the extending arm stem that it is on to get to the black 12 pin connector that needs to be removed.
you might have to disconnect a socket around the fusebox to make it easier to remove, this isn't always the case but it was for me just because of the the way that some very chunky groups of wires were positioned - they just needed to be plugged back together before replacing it.
as soon as i got the boot open i put it into service mode - this means pushing the two metal elements backwards to their locked position with a screwdriver or similar - they're located on the underside of the boot lid and if you need help / can't find them when doing it just reach out or search the forum for 'service mode boot'. its a really helpful trick to know about if ever you need to service the roof or remove / replace the hall sensors which i had to do last summer.

all the best from Wales :)

So how do you get the boot open if the battery’s dead or missing…?

RobbiZ4 wrote: Sun Feb 18, 2024 1:29 pm May I post a short summary for your 3 minutes task?

1 loaded battery
2 wires from the battery terminals, one to ground (earth - however you name it), the other with a needle or MQS pin to pin 12 of the removed 54pole plug below the junction box ECU sitting left of the front fuse panel
0.5 seconds of contact will activate the central locking motor of the trunk lid
ok thanks
Wow....
If this advice had been said on 2nd or 3rd post perhaps a international incident could have been averted.

At this rate we will never get back into the EU.
