So, a few months ago my waterpolo started making bad noises, I haven't used the car since then, I don't have much money.
I don't want to pay $570 dollars for the pump, so, im gonna risk it and get a $150 dollar e46 M3 water pump and plug the hole.

I don't know if anyone else has done this, but I haven't found any documentation on actually doin it, just a lot of people wondering if its possible; so if you have done this pls give feedback, I will report back after the deed is done.

P.S.
Happy to have found this forum. My car is a 2007 M roadster I got for 10k dolls about a year ago, it was in a really bad state, slowly getting it back to perfect.

For m3 yes, prices are low usually from 150-300 dollars. for z4 specific cheapest I've found in America is 400.

Here is a picture I found with both pumps side by side, on the left is the z4 pump, it doesn't have a return hole, and the flange for the pulley is shorter because the z4m has an electric fan.
On the right is the m3 pump, with return hole and assume the threaded flange is for the fan-clutch assembly.

not sure if fitment will be an issue, but in that case I may cut it off

I used an old z4m pump on a e46 m3 a few years ago, so the reverse should work.

We got really screwed. You can get an OEM Geba water pump on the M3 for only about $150 USD! :headbang:
