Intermittent hesitation

Intermittently i experience a hesitation at around 1100 to 1500 rpm mostly in second gear . Also on tick over it can occasionally be lumpy . Any suggestions?

How old are the plugs and coil packs?

Funny you should say that...our Mazda3 also has a very slight hesitation at EXACTLY 1300prm but only in second gear and is only noticeable when driving slowly. It has done it forever and I still don't know why! Never at the same revs in any other gear.

2nd at 1300 putting load on engine.
My cars dodgy tick over was oil in plug shorting coil.
New cam cover fixed.
