Well done - although I really don't like white cars!

Does anyone know what " 35TFSI" means though, compared to say "40TFSI"?

I had a new A6 estate (avant in VAG speak) back in 2007 (leased). The one I had was a great place to 'be' but not good to go anywhere in, as the 140hp diesel was too weedy for the car and it had the god-awful CVT auto box. Looked fast and a million dollars, though!

I was considering the 'black edition' facelift but adds £5k to the price for different wheels, a 'virtual dash' and worse styling. Virtual dashes are fun for about 5 minutes then just annoying IME.

F31 320i. Good car.

Engine output. The 35, 40 and 45 are all 2 litre (in the petrol). 35 has 150bhp (and is available in a manual but can be mapped!), the 40 is 190bhp, the 45 is 235bhp. Almost identical to the 18i, 20i and 28i variants in the E89!

40 and 45 variants are only available with the DSG and are about £2k more each as the index increases. It has to be a 35 as want a manual!

Thanks.

Seeing as my old 330i is 255bhp I'd need at least a 50 if I ever thought about an Audi!

I wonder why an R8 isn't an 80 or so?

I love a sparkling clean white car....and one thing I can do well is clean the buggers!

I do like that generation of A4 Avant. Surely it's worth stretching your budget to the S4 though? :D

Auto only! Wife won't drive an auto and I am not keen TBH. Equivalent S4 is £10k more aswell.

Ah sorry, that's a shame. I'm sure a mapped 35 will be plenty fast anyway!

The wife also drives like Lewis Hamilton. It would worry me if she had 360hp under her right foot. :o

Maybe you need a new wife instead of a new car...

Always liked the look of some Audis (from the outside) and had them on the list of possible cars to own at some point in the future.
Had an A5 courtesy car a few years ago, it looked great but it just didnt feel right while sitting in it.
Its was hard to pinpoint what I didnt like about it but my wife agreed that it felt strange.

They do have offset pedals, apparently, although never noticed it in the A6 from years ago.
My BIL had a Passat a few years ago and sold it because it gave him back ache. He put that down to the offset pedals aswell! :?

Back in 2003 a work colleague had an A3 company car and was always complaining about being uncomfortable driving it, but I thought being 6'3" tall may have been a factor too.

Until I got a Seat Leon Cupra soon after and found that on a long run (200+ miles) I was getting cramp in the calf of my accelerator/brake leg!

I think the angle of the pedals was as much of a factor as the offset, and not having Cruise meant I couldn't have a rest (I'm only 5' 9").

Sold the Leon in 2005 when I began my BMW journey and I've never had that issue since!

And I'd never buy a white car anyway.
