Just bought and returned this deathtrap.

Rumbling, from rear and front wheels, dodgy broken random steering, rusted underside and right wing.

Corroded brake lines sprayed with silver paint to obscure it.

Rotten rear and front suspension and driveshafts. Subframe rusted beyond belief.

Engine noisy idle. Valves never been adjusted. No hot air from heating even after 45mins driving. Warm or cold at best.

10 owners.

This dealer cannot be trusted. He's been reported to all dvla, motor ombudsman etc.

Guys a slimey conman. You've been warned.

Yep, mistake I made with a Scottish car. Cost a lot more to get it fixed.

The dealer pics - the car doesn't even looked washed at all.

MOT history does show corrosion for many years. It also tells a story of a very unloved car from early on.

Personally wouldn't have gone near it in the first place just from the MOT history.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Can't see what he has done wrong TBH. The car has an MOT, so unless he had a dodgy one done, he would just plead ignorance. Even if he did get a dodgy MOT, the MOT tester would be in trouble, not him.

Being a slimy conman is a pre-requisite for being a car dealer IMO. They can't lock them all up! :)

Not quite sure why Scotland is deemed so bad, every country in the UK has a coastline.

Aberdeen seems to be the worst area in the UK, but central Scotland is no worse than the rest of the UK and better than some parts.

I am not sure why Scotland fares so bad, perhaps the cars are less likely to be parked in garages? Or if it is colder, more salt on the roads?

I see the same with the Porsches - anything from Scotland has issues with the exhaust bolts that are impossible to get off.

I've bought two from Aberdeen - both were like sieves underneath :headbang:

Funnily enough I went to see an E89 that this trader had for sale last year - walked away within 5 minutes of seeing the car :!:

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Because they keep their whippets and pigeons in the garage, and their cars outside....of course!

I was advised my my usual MOT tester not to buy a local car (of any kind) here in West Wales due to the salty air. We are about 8 miles from the coast.

We don’t have much salt on our roads here in the Torquay area on account of it being so nice and sunny all the time :poke:  However we do have a lot of salty air from the sea
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.
