Winter workhorse + Health update

Post by N4LLY » Sat Mar 30, 2024 5:38 pm

Say "Happy Birthday" Am 62 today :D

Cars:

Both got little run outs this week. Got the roof down once, which was nice

Health:

Another dose of Chemo yesterday Through the new PICC line i had fitted Wednesday, which was nice and relaxing.
Today, my birthday, feeling preety good actually which is nice.
Hopsital gave me 2 days worth of steroids, so birthday breakfast sorted, Painkillers and steroids. Have set me up for the day.

No ancillary apointments this week only Pre-chemo then chemo Friday. So an actual week off in effect

Although work is paying in full, 4 month's notice' they have killed my work account, passwods etc. So i now have nothing to do
planned in redundancy :tumbleweed: Which is nice

What to do next ? I dunno, suggestions welcome :?

Happy Birthday :)

Glad to hear you're feeling more chippa :)

As for redundancy just embrace it and concentrate on the health side

Best thing I did was leaving work behind, less stress, feel fitter, not answerable to anyone and enjoy each day of relaxation and freedom :) Always loads to do, new hobbies etc.

Tim.

Have a happy birthday (What's left of it anyway)

As for redundancy, have done that three times now and didn't appreciate it the first two but have accepted that this time it's for real.

Summer is a coming so enjoy yours to the full.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes.

Lucky with a nice day, not pain free but bearable. Nice weather and the "Ex" and son came round for a few hours
Oh and Ipswich Town top of the leagure :D

Calling this redundancy as i have no pension to fall back on, so redundancy will have to support me as long as possible.

Hobbies.

Main life long one has been sea fishing. Have fished most of the World, just Japan on the bucket list.
8 hours out at sea just not an option at the moment.
Cars, driving not fiddling with. Cannot risk more than a 30 mins out and 30 mins back drive at the moment,
no energy / tired / nodding off etc.

This venue has re-opened at the weekend for the summer season. Looks like they plan for a good summer
what after the lock-down and pandemic thingy. So with some good weather will use and vist quite a bit.
for the pop up food outlets i will need "Teeth" Checkout Godsmack'd burgers :D

The world is still my oyster, just need to find some energy. :D

You could change your fishing to coarse. There will be easy access private lakes near you (they are everywhere). A lot less demanding than being on a boat. Loads of people selling used equipment on eBay, so it doesn't need to be expensive.
I have recently taken up coarse fishing again after a 30 year gap. I love it!

Have the Royal Hythe Miliitary canal down the road, some nice pike in there.
My nice shimano spinning gear would be ideal. Get some energy back and give it ago

You can't have many Eastern Europeans residing nearby then. They have decimated the pike population around here, as they eat them! Carp aswell if they can catch them. Removing coarse fish is illegal. They mostly fish illegally aswell. No rod licence, no club fees and then pretend not to understand English if they are challenged. It is a big problem, as it is changing the eco-system of the rivers.
Hard to Police I know, but the EA response is to put a few posters up in twenty different languages. That'll sort it!

Maybe a silly question but don't you have any workplace pension you could take early to help tide you over?

I had 3 from different employers and had taken them all by the time I got to 55 with 25% of each pension pot as cash because it wasn't taxable. :D

Good luck on the hobbies front anyway.

If nothing else you have a fantastic view from your window!

I'd be up for a trip to the Kent coast if you fancied a trip out in a Z4 with a roof.

Pondrew, The cannel is well loved by the locals.
Is well policed by the Angling clubs, ramblers, rowers etc. The clandestines stand no chance to plunder.

Mr Tidy, Also have 3 small pension pots.

Two are old and frozen. One from the the 90's i am currently active at cashing in. Just awaiting a signature from
the cheif cancer doctor and will be submited with other info the pension company have asked for.
The expectancy 12 month box has been ticked, which means that 100% can be cashed in Tax free
Once banked will revue the others, they are worthless as a monthly pension sceam so may jsut as well cash in, if 100% tax free.
(This is based on my personal circumstance)

Re Hobbiy, i might just get another job. Easy and stress free, flexible and fun would be good.

Does miniumum wage get raised this week ?

Need to get fit and well first  8)
