Lets hope so I spent ages on forums and "will they fit" etc before taking the plunge

Just to add my tuppence-orth into this chat, I'm running 265/40 rear tyres on a 10J wheel, and 245/40 fronts on an 8.5J wheel. Yes it is an M, so the offsets will necessarily be different to the non-M models, but basically imo YES, the alloy widths and the tyre dimensions you have selected will physically fit in the arches, provided the selected offset isn't too aggressive!

Hi Ed . The EC7 look good on yours  Interested to know why you went with 40`s rather than 35 `s on the rear or are M`s different ?

Thanks

Thanks
Cheers :)

I inherited the tyre sizes from the previous owner, but the M has 225/45 profile fronts and 255/40 rears as standard anyway, so yes slightly chunkier than the non-M models.

the 265/40 rears are quite hard to find (and quite expensive as a consequence), but being a bit of a tart I do like how they look - and I do think there's a noticeable benefit to the ride...

1536Z4 wrote: Thu Jan 04, 2024 5:43 pm Thank you Matt . In answer to your question I havn`t had long enough driving time with the LSD and the exhaust but I would think it will be between those two . The LSD from what I have read is what most people would say is the best improvement that can be made . The exhaust was a huge indulgence and most sane people would not entertain the cost and I only did because my Dad passed away from a brain tumour suddenly at the end of 2022 and I have used some of the money from my inheritance to fund this . He was a life long motorsport fan . The exhaust looks and sounds excellent and should help release some more extra horses once I decide where to get another remap done to really exploit its build spec . It definitely revs more freely . I think to sum it up there isn`t anything that I have done or has been done that I would change back . I had some Apex Arc 8 wheels delivered today which I got 10% off on Cyber Monday so they should help with rolling mass . What I can say is that even with all the stress , cuts and banged knuckles etc I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the Forum has been a great source of information and a good laugh too .
Sorry to hear of your loss, the work of art manifold is a lovely engineering tribute, especially so given the challenges in building such a thing in these cars. I look forward to seeing the potential released as you continue to optimise the car, not limited by the usual bottleneck!

Good to hear your impressions from the LSD, they feel like they’re crying out for one! And the new wheels… not really a better choice for these cars is there!! Beautiful!

Thanks Matt .

I really need to get some miles done this year and work out what needs doing next . Would really like to get something sorted with the intake but not sure which way to go yet and then either another remap once I have decided who to go with (again  ) or even a stand alone ECU but I think that is taking it a bit far for what I need as I`m not racing it just the odd trackday hopefully .

Fitted new aluminium pedal covers from Pedal Haus in USA http://www.pedalhaus.com/e85rhd.html . Thanks to Ed Doe, for bringing these to my attention in a post about pedals . They arrived within a week and their customer service is excellent . They are very light and are easy to fit . Feel very grippy

Those look really good! How are they attached to the pedals?

The accelerator is fitted with self tapping/drill screws . The rest pedal is with very strong 3M tape . The brake pedal/clutch pedal you have to drill using the excellent metal template they provide and then screw bolts and locking nuts . See you tube video .

Fitted carbon diffuser from Burkhart Engineering but had to cut some of the carbon fibre away from around the exhaust box due to it being a larger box than standard . Bit of a tense moment when cutting into it to get the correct shape so did it a small piece at a time ending up with 3 cuts to get it right and then sanding to get a smoother edge. I have not sealed around it yet as waiting to see if it moves/settles whilst being driven first . I used some rust killer /prevention on the bumper chassis and some protection paint whilst the bumper was removed . I shall post some photos of it on the car once I have taken them .
