What’s the gearing like Martyn? Are the ratios a bit closer and is 7th longer (than 6th manual) for cruising?
BTW Sounds insane on full chat!

The gearing is pretty close with a single overdrive in 7th. Cruising in 7th the revs are a little higher than I'd like but that could easily be sorted with a 3.15 CWP from an E9x M3.
E9x DCT Box Ratios
1st 4.78
2nd 3.056
3rd 2.153
4th 1.678
5th 1.39
6th 1.203
7th 1
Max speed at 8000rpm with E9x DCT with 3.62
1st 36 mph
2nd 56 mph
3rd 79 mph
4th 102 mph
5th 123 mph
6th 142 mph
7th 171 mph
Compared to the stock ratios, which I assume are the same as the getrag in the M3.
1st 4.23
2nd 2.53
3rd 1.67
4th 1.23
5th 1
6th 0.83
1st 39.4 mph
2nd 65.8 mph
3rd 99.4 mph
4th 134.95 mph
5th 165.99 mph
6th 199.99 mph
If I fitted a 3.15 diff the max speeds are as follows:
Max mph at 8000rpm with E9x DCT with 3.15
1st 41 mph
2nd 64 mph
3rd 91 mph
4th 117 mph
5th 141 mph
6th 163 mph
7th 197 mph
The E9x M3 DCT track boys love fitting 3.62s but I guess not many of them sit and cruise on the motorway

What are the benefits of keeping the s54 in this setup vs using the s65? S65 weighs less, makes more power, better weight distribution, and higher potential for power?

Less weight and closer to the center of the vehicle to help handling? Not a critique, just wondering the thought process from a design standpoint

Everything is still working nicely with the DCT, no regrets so far! It still needs a bit of tweaking but so far so good.
I finally got round to changing the high pressure vanos line as I forgot to do it when the headers off, no pics as it's pretty boring.
I also wired in a 12v to USB socket to an ignition live so I could charge my tablet without having to use the 'always on' cig lighter socket.
My replacement tablet (Lenovo Legion Y700) also arrived which I'd hoped would fit nicely in front of the screen, and it does! I've disconnected the screen so it doesnt try and open/close on key on / off.
I routed the charging cable down to my new USB socket which is installed behind the glove box.
I also designed a mounting plate for a couple of custom buttons I plan to mount behind the steering wheel.
And printed in CF reinforced PETG.
It'll fit behind the steering wheel, and have one momentary switch for launch control/clutch by wire and a latching switch for traction on / off.
The custom laser engraved switches are coming from Aus so will take a while to arrive

Buttons have arrived, so I wired them in and got them mounted.
One for launch control (momentary) via the DCT box, and the other to toggle traction control (latching) on and off via the MaxxECU.
On the other side of things, my brake light switch is b0rked, so my brake lights are stuck on. New one on order

Thanks all.
I fitted the new brake light switch only to have the same issue , I did a bit of head scratching then bust out the multimeter and checked, turns out number 14 had blown. I replaced that and all was good in the hood again.
