Cruise Control
Hi All I am thinking of purchasing a cruise control kit for my 06 plate z4 3.0. BMW will fit it for £200 and I have found various links explaining how to fit it so thinking of doing it myself. My only concern is it says about coding, is this possible without taking it to a garage? Is it easy to fit. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers

Re: Cruise Control
Mine needed no coding or wiring as that was present.
yours is an 06 though so the wiring wont be present
the kit itself is £150 including the switch, cowl and the wiring loom - is the £200 price quoted including the kit? If so that aint bad really given the extra wiring involved and potential for error....

Hi they 've said the unit is £150 and it will then cost a further £200 to fit so not a bargain. However if it has'nt got the wiring I dont think I'd fancy doing it myself.

Re: Cruise Control
Forget the kit and buy just the switch for around £75. The bit of loom you want is also available for about £5.
You just reuse the original cowl and dremmel out the switch shape, which has the profile already stamped on the inside Takes about 10 mins to cut out.
I make that £80 Vs £350. I'd spend the saved on a weekend break testing the cruise to get me there
