A little issue
** Thought I'd posted this the other day but didn't post for some reason
So on my way to work on Tuesday I spotted a deer run across the road in front of me, so I slowed down a bit, then I saw another one run across, so I slowed down even more, it cleared so I took my foot off the brake and started to accelerate up again, then the second one decided the grass wasn't greener on the other side and ran back out in front of me..... too late.... BANG
So I now have a knackered bumper, two broken kidney grills and a cracked number plate As you can imagine I'm not entirely happy, oh and in case anyone is interested the deer got up and buggered off leaving clumps of hair all over my bumper, up the bonnet and all over the road, the little tyke!
So I have options...
1) Plastic weld the crack (hope it lasts), fill and then have the bumper resprayed, and buy some new grills.
2) Replace with a used bumper, but will probably need a spray job anyway, but the opportunity to replace with a M-Sport version

Dave I think the bumper side brackets are different on the m sport version (about £27 each 2nd hand), the cover for the tow eye is different also (about £25 2nd hand) + the lower grilles x3 ....it soon adds up. Once you get a 2nd hand bumper and get it repaired / painted you cant be far off £500 / 600.

Arr great, just checking things out
I've contacted a breaker who is showing a full car and what looks like an undamaged M-Sport front end, so just waiting for some additional photos and a price for the full assemblyZed Baron wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 9:09 am Dave I think the bumper side brackets are different on the m sport version (about £27 each 2nd hand), the cover for the tow eye is different also (about £25 2nd hand) + the lower grilles x3 ....it soon adds up. Checked, all OK it's the bumper section that is pushed backwards, light and all mounts are all solid and in the right place.

Someone had to go there...
Whatever you doe, don't leave it too long to get fixed, you don't want to go through a fallow period with no Z4...
I can't think of any muntjac puns, sorry

Roe deer, roe deer, roe deer!
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Yes, and a doe is a female deer. I'll save the roe jokes for when someone has a deer swim into their boat

That bumper is definitely bucked in.
A good friend of mine in West Yorkshire has a pair of OEM black grilles. Just say the word. I can coerce and bribe him.

Perhaps you should have bought a Staaag. Sorry. It's a shame but maybe the benefit will be a M sport upgrade. Hope it all works out and the car can be sorted.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
