Always wanted one of these and a few weeks ago I picked one up, it was a great alternative to the cars I already have. The drive is so pure, steering is uncorrupted and response is immediate. Only owned it for a couple of days before I had the chance to exploit the limits on a trackday.
The engine which lacks torque for day to day use elevates to a screaming banshee on track. 9k rpm, perfect gearshift, double wishbone suspension and lightweight, everything you could want from a drivers car. Japanese cars are now outnumbering the Europeans on my drive (2 in another garage) and apart from a 997 GT3 it's more Japanese cars I look forward to adding

Bravo - I do love a DC2 - getting harder to find a decent one these days, and they're starting to go up in price as a result. I had a mate with one - had a shorter final drive (motorway driving was frankly ridiculous in it ) and a really aggressive diff, it was absolutely epic, made my Peugeot 306 Gti6 at the time feel distinctly average by comparison!
Also, side note - the garage space you have is ace, I'm extremely jealous of that! Since lock-down started March 2020, my M has been turfed out of the garage to make way for a home gym - and with it dragging on I had to find winter storage for it away from the house which although good is a bit of a pain. I'd kill for a decent double/triple garage to have the car and gym under one roof!

Great cars, had a Championship white DC2 in the past… a very focussed car, even had a lightened windscreen IIRC.
Also had a Civic ESI, then two civic VTI’s, an S2000 at launch in 1999 (Berlina Black), two EP3’s and a DC5
That’s 8 Honda’s and I never had a single fault on any of them…. Ever
They were all great fun, but you had to be ‘on it’ in all of them

Great to see so much love for the little ripper!
Yeah it is very much a in the mood car, anything less than 8/10ths feels like hard work but when you're on it, it really comes alive.
Video of my friend in a well drive S2000 being gapped by the Teg (I was just finishing my warm up the first lap). The balance is just incredible, not even a hint of torque steer and it just leaps out of the 2nd/3rd gear corners.

Nice vid these cars are absolute weapons on track, you regularly see them outperform much more modern powerful cars.
I am also extremely jealous of all that garage space!Ed Doe wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 8:34 am

Absolutely love old skool Hondas, B18C, what an engine
DC2 great cars, well ahead of their time, once tweaked they are monsters!
I had an s2000 for years that was very heavily fettled! Most fun car I've ever had!
Lots of love for JDM cars, I keep thinking about a white EK9 and a black FD in the garage to mix it up with the Germans
Edit to add, probably never going to happen, I'll end up divorced... Well maybe the FD hmmm
