So, after months of sorting out the water ingress issue in the boot of my 35i (thanks to everyone on the forum) I am getting round to some TLC. I have owned this Z for most of its life, no intention of selling it and dabble in detailing, including 2 stage detailing with my Flex orbital .

That said, one area I have never got to is the underneath, so time to get the underneath cleaned and treated for rust/prevention.

A newish (Jan 21) company opened up, about an hour away from me called ARP Auto Rust Prevention. The cost for full underbody clean, prep and treatment was £200. Took the team from 8:30 to 1pm. The best value for money service I have ever experienced. The underside now looks close to new as possible and fully treated, all done by hand with hard graft.

So I think if you are keeping your pride and joy then it makes sense to get this done, if you are thinking of selling then it still makes sense as this must add more value to the car than the cost and also make it better positioned to sell. I received lots of before and after pictures and also a before and after video clip.

They even offered me breakfast whilst I waited in the office !!

Super pleased, just some of the photos below - for £200 it was a no brainier. One thing I didn't want was a service where its all about just spraying everything, these guys hand clean and finished the parts which should be treated - really impressed.

Get rid of the crappy standard shocks, get some Bilsteins.
Even the new version Z4 comes with Bilsteins, that tells you something.

That's great value. Any idea what product they used?

I too will probably be giving them a call even though they are an hour from me. That's fantastic value!

Ok will take a look, what is the ride improvement as a result of the change? I’m actually look for more comfort than stiff handling as my general need for speed has dropped over the years.

No sorry I don’t; near the office their is a wide collection of large bottles but I didn’t see what they were. I do know they put the cleaning treatment on multiple times as he mentioned they keep repeating the process until its clean
