I suspect Lancaster's was on a classic policy as they're mainly classic insurers. Was ours on a classic policy or an everyday?

OK, so you're comparing a classic policy premium with an everyday car premium. There will always be a difference.

Yes, but his point is that Lancaster WILL give him a classic policy and you won't?ChrisKnottIns wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 10:41 am OK, so you're comparing a classic policy premium with an everyday car premium. There will always be a difference.
Therefore it doesn't matter what comparison you make, you will never get the business.
Surely the question should be: if you invest time and effort into a forum for a car that is rapidly becoming seen as a classic (earlier versions at least) then why are you not providing the same service as other, more forward-looking insurers?

The z4 I am looking at is as second car so its seems anyone on my predicement will use lancaster over anyone else as they are half the price, the actually offered my than your insurance offers than your company for the quote ws for a z4 20i. no. Ncb age 60 with 5k mile full comp for only £265 , your company less offers was £480, so I would suggest to the admin of z4 let people know about lancaster

No his point was that there was a pricing differential. The difference in policy type was highlighted by me.enuff_zed wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 10:44 amYes, but his point is that Lancaster WILL give him a classic policy and you won't?ChrisKnottIns wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 10:41 am OK, so you're comparing a classic policy premium with an everyday car premium. Why won't you offer a classic policy then?ChrisKnottIns wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 10:58 amNo his point was that there was a pricing differential. Seems a big section of the market you're missing?

We will offer classic policies for any vehicles that the various insurers we use class as a classic - typically anything around 20 years old, garaged, with limited mileage and used as a second vehicle and cherished.
