That sounds like a great service!
Question, what's the thing in the last pics?

Oil filter housing on the left, and the oil cooler on the right. The M54 doesn't have an oil cooler I think, but it can also suffer from a leaky oil filter housing gasket.

Sorry for the random question on this thread, but do you know how bowser123 cleaned the oil residue on your engine (especially around the pulleys)? I DIY'd this job and spent absolutely ages cleaning the oil with rags and it doesn't look nearly as clean as his job.
Props to him, seems like a great guy. My E85 had a roof motor relocated/replaced by him and although I wasn't the one who took it to him, it clearly was an excellent job.

I didn’t see what he used to clean the engine, but did notice a big can of brake cleaner so would assume he used this. He done a very good job of it!

Booked in to Ross on the 21st for a new motor after being advised it was a straightforward simple job and attempting it myself ( did NOT go according to plan
) oh hindsight is a wonderful thing ..i wish I'd have contacted him first .As I'm already confident in Ross@RBM and sure it will be worth the 2hr trip ...the words DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS spring to mind .unless your a mechanic which i am not .just a bloke with a bit of knowledge and a few tools ( dangerous if not in controlled enviroment
....LOL
Anyways looking forward to Ross working his magic
Will update after 21st
