Touch Up Paint Recommendations
I'm about to purchase some touch up paint for a couple of stone chips and around the door edge where I've banged it in my garage.
Can anyone recommend the best brand of paint to buy?
I bought some for the daily from Chipex and was a bit peeved at how poor the colour match was so reluctant to buy from there again.
I'm also very tempted to invest in a Festool Spot Repair Scraper...unless there is anyone around Chester / North Wales area who could lend me one.

I'll have a look and see. Thanks Andy. Just trying to make sure I get as close to 100% match as possible.

I have a Festool Denibber. I'd definitely recommend one, works brilliantly. Not cheap but it'll last forever

Also, bought my last Sterling Grey touch-up on Ebay last year from the supplier below. Best colour match I've had, much better than OEM ones I've had before https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 1796238422
Sterling Grey '03 2.5i SE / Infinitas Supercharger / S.M.G / Hardtop / Gloss Black 162s / Bilstein B4s / 3.0i Brakes / DLV De-Cat & Silencer / Rebuilt VANOS / Sonar 2Xcite Lights / Carbon & Alcantara Trim / M-Sport Seats / ...& Side Covers !

I was actually just looking at a set from BMW and assumed it would be the perfect match. The one you suggested is really cheap and no lacquer required!patriot66 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 9:31 pm I have a Festool Denibber. I'd definitely recommend one, works brilliantly. The Festool is pricey and that's what putting me off. Have you used it much? Bit of a stupid question, but once you've used it I'm assuming when it's smooth you can polish to a fine finish? Not many videos on YouTube of use.

Always had OEM touchups but never again. I've used the Festool quite a bit on 5 different cars in our family. It's a bit unnerving to use at first. Just go easy on curved surfaces. It removes the touch-up flush with the surrounding paint. I then just smooth it over with some 3000 grade paper and polish it up with my DA

Just looking at the Mirka Shark Blade. Same thing, just £30 cheaper. Think I'll take a chance on that. Thanks for the tips / info.patriot66 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 10:02 pm Always had OEM touchups but never again. I've used the Festool quite a bit on 5 different cars in our family. Best match I found was from my local chips away guy.
They scanned the paint and mixed a small amount up for me.
Match was excellent, unlike the crap oem that I gave back to stealers and told them what crap it was.
Full refund given.
