I bought this car a few months back...

Modifications so far...
Compomotive MO6 18x8 18x9 with MPSS
Front BMW Performance 6pots with ds2500 & HEL lines
Hayward & Scott exhaust - Now sold

Its a very clean car on top, but a few of the components are a little corroded on the underside as the car has been in storage for 4-5 years.

It started with the input seal of the diff weeping...

So I have decided to do a bit of a clean up over the winter.

Plans are:
KW v3's - On order from Awesome GTI
Strip clean and powder coat rear sub frame
New Kunifer Brake lines
Superpro Rear sub frame bushes & RTAB
Powerflex rear arms - Purchased
Replace every suspension joint with Lemforder/BMW
H&R M3 Anti roll bar kit.
New rear wheel bearings as arms will be powdercoated
Diff to be split, blasted and coated with new seals clutch pack & Bearings checked - With specialist
Porsche Rear calipers - With custom-brake-calipers.co.uk being painted Phoenix yellow to match fronts
Full super sprint exhaust

I'm sure I have missed a few bits.

Small update,

Got the rear sub frame all split and ready to be powder coated,

Purchased a bearing press to pull all the bearings and bushes, although I did need to borrow a friends press to get the hubs out.

Purchased brand new brake lines from BMW - These come in a straight length and are not bent to shape unfortunately.

a few goodies have arrived this week, Superpro Sub frame bushes & RTAB, Powerflex Black Diff bushes & Adjustable arms, E46 M3 H&R roll bars.

Nice work, keep us posted please. It's definitely something I'd like to do one day, drop the rear (and front) ends and clean them all up, probably take me a lot longer than you to get it done though!
Disappointing the BMW lines are not pre-bent, do they advise in TIS best practice for fitting these?

Interesting your driver's side stone guard looks new, that's a fairly big job to get to right?

Ad, may be worth having the parts under the car raptor coated instead of powder coating. Powder coating can chip off but raptor is a poly urethane based under seal

Totally. Nothing like stripping something back and getting your eyes on everything.

Tempted by a higher final drive ratio?

I did mine in my garage and on my drive way. Never again it’s not impressive I have vowed to never again lie under a car and swear st it. My friend Chris was of the same opinion. That’s why we brought a 2 post lift! Best £1200 you will ever spend I’d you work on cars.

Are the porker calipers a decent upgrade?

I haven’t ever bothered looking into changing the final drive. As I imagine it to be quite a pricy thing to do.

not everyone has the space for a lift and can afford to drop 1200 quid on one..... if we could, everyone would have a lift without doubt!

You can get some really cool single garage ones buddy.
And trust me I am not made of money. I guess it’s a question of how much you would use it. We use ours all the time i share it with a friend. And we have built 2 cars ourselves. We ar4e lucky to have a mix of skills and experience. So we can do most things and not have to pay tuners or garages to do jobs for us. So it’s been a big saving really.

I would say i saved my £600 in building my exhaust and fitting my own clutch on the ramp.
