Hi lads

Went out this morning and car wouldn’t start, threw up the following codes

P0160
P0162
P2272

Would I be right in saying o2 sensor and I’m oxo .anyone else have this issue please

Is it turning over?

Are the ignition lights on?

I don’t think an O2 sensor will stop the car from starting. Could easily be the ignition switch, but as said other than not starting what can you tell us?

Agreed, all those codes are O2 sensor related which aren't used at startup. If not turning over it eill be either starter motor (give it a tap with a wooden mallet) or the ignition switch.

Car is spinning over fine , started for a sec this morning lumpy and then died , when turned over now it gives a slight splutter but no start

No, if it's turning over ok it's not likely to be either of those. I'm assuming you have enough fuel in, in which case fuel pump / fuel pressure related maybe. When did you last fill up?

When you switch the ignition on, can you hear the fuel pump priming as normal?

Didn’t check pump yet . Thought the obd codes would do the hard work for me lol

Is it an in tank or external

Tried turning on and off the ignition to check the switch and lights lite up everytime, sounds like the switch may be all right

Focusing on pump now , can you get at wiring in car to check for power , don’t hear it priming but can’t ever remember hearing it

I’ll jack it and have a look now

We can do better than this!
Accelerator pedal to the floor, hold it there, and crank engine. If it fires, let throttle go. Its a quick clear flood. Repeat once or twice.
If youve got any carb cleaner or wd40 or easy start, pop air cleaner lid off and squirt any of the above in while someone cranks. If it tries to fire, you have a fuel issue. If not, most likely spark.

Quick and dirty checks as a start.

Tks a lot , very easy fix when you know how , soun started on full throttle and started straight away with air box open

Wonder what caused it , never failed before

Good to hear it’s running, when did it last have new plugs?
