After my recent couple of TIAs was really looking forward to a fantastic holiday in the Maldives, the specialist ok,d the trip so it was all set to go last Friday when my run of bad luck continued with getting gastroenteritis which lasted 4 days so missed the flights and holiday someone up there really has it in for me at the moment!
The only good part is my gp has been excellent so looks ok for getting a refund from the travel insurance downside that insurance which costs a lot for me already ( medical probs ) will probably cost even more in the future

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I too have had two TIA's, the second one just three days before a long awaited holiday. Missed that as consultant advised against the travel. That was seven years ago and nothing since. Hope my luck holds and wish the same for you

It is so disappointing to get so close to going on holiday and then having something go wrong. Last November the day before we were due to fly to Madeira I suffered a cardiac arrest. We couldn’t go on that holiday or the next one we had booked in February. However I have made a good recovery and we are due to go to Madeira at the end of November, all being well. So I know how you feel. Hope everything goes well and you are able to book another holiday soon.

That is a real shame OP - after your 2 TIAs you deserved a break, and the Maldives would have been really special. :(

I hope you get the insurance sorted quickly - then you can book another getaway!
