Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I'm looking to purchase an e85 Z4 (either a 2.5 or 3.0) but will post in the wanted section and keep a look out in the classifieds.

Currently got an e46 M3 in phoenix yellow as my special weekend car -had it for 2 years and love it to bits (after having spent a significant period of time & money at redish motorsport getting ALOT fixed!) Before that I had an Impreza WRX and before that a VX220 and before that a Z3 2.2i sport. I loved the Z3 - had a custom exhaust fitted with sports cats and a remap and loved every minute of it.

Anyway, looking forward to getting involved on the forum,

Chris

Welcome! I've got an E46 M3 too and love it to bits. Fortunately no signs of boot floor cracking for me but then it's always been freshly under-sealed every year for the 7 years I have had it. Going from that to an E85 3.0Si you will miss the top end kick >5,000rpm for sure but it's just as tractable lower down and a world more smooth (esp when cold).

The Z4's are just such a great ownership experience and this forum is amazing too, so much useful info and a great bunch of people on the whole.

That looks nice - I love silver grey! The m3 is almost too powerful for daily use as don't get to enjoy it in the Bristol car park! When I had my z3 every journey was an occasion - even if sitting in traffic with roof down and heated seats on was great. Also i controversially prefer the noise of the smooth m54 engine rather than the s54 - which is good in its own right but in a different way!

Welcome- interesting painting the kidney grills body colour on the ///M3. Car looks great! A Phoenix Yellow roadster to complement it would look great!

Finally picked one up! Took a flight up from Bristol to Edinburgh. Long drive back tomorrow. 3.0, manual, 60k miles, just been machine polished and detailed. Black heated leather - very pleased :)

thanks for the invite vornwend - got other plans on NYE unfortunately but that sounds fun!

let me know of any other meets and i'll be keen to come along.

Very pleased with the Z4 - a few minor things to tidy up - some of the plastic on the drivers door pull is scratched - so ordered some suede leather to trim it with (hopefully cheap fix!)

also the rears are non fun flats a but fronts are bridgestone RFT (RE050A) and car is tramlining horrendously! played around with tyre pressures but I think the balance and feel of the car is completely out with having a mix of RFT/non RFT!
