Thanks guys. It wasn't supposed to be a 'sympathy' thread, though! :)

Pondrew wrote: Thu Oct 26, 2023 12:59 pm Since selling the E89, my lovely wife has been missing it quite a lot. She is not happy that I, apparently, "made her sell it". I will admit that it had a certain charm for me too.

So I think we may be on the lookout for another very soon. I am going to look at the G29 aswell, but think they are still a bit expensive for a 'summer toy'.

It would have to be an N20, in either of the whites, or VO, or possibly Melbourne Red.
I wondered about the G29, but paying an ongoing subscription for things like adaptive suspension and heated steering wheel put me right off.
I have just read that BMW have changed their mind on the subscription model, even though Audi are about to introduce it. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/car ... d-BMW.html

About £25k. Too much. Just thought, they are all autos so that is out. She won't drive an automatic!
Likewise, mine wont either
So the wife doesn't drive, is that an issue?

I think the Z4 will have to go on a back burner for now.
I am thinking of binning out the daughter's Mini (worth sweet FA) and buying something that I can use as well as her to learn in. We only have one useful car at the moment, the Mazda, which the wife uses daily. I have a half-stripped Z3 in the garage which is obviously no use and a knackered Mini. Not the best collection of motors at present. :(

[/quote]Fair enough, I concede she will have to drive it on special occasions at least.
