Hi Graeme, you dont fancy a swap deal for your old seats back do you lol.

Car looks great, but as mentioned by others your going to make the most money back by splitting, someone I know only got 15K private for a mint 2003 3.0 which was fully loaded. Seems to be so many s/h Z4's for sale the prices are getting hammered

Oh nice.... a supercharged clubsport :) :)

Looks like splitting may an option..... but not if I can only get £15K for my car. Would leave it as it is without the supercharger, lights and M sport seats. Surely I could get £16K with the new wheels etc??

Need about £21K in total to fund a supercharged M3, including sale of supercharger, seats, car itself and headlights.

I just don't know what to do.......

Curtis,

Something you should be aware of when converting to a 330 from Z4, although I am sure Simpson Motorsport will sort you out with a good deal :)

3. The cost of new software when transferring the kit is USD 499. You can not use your DME in another car. Parts to convert the kit to 330 spec are aprox USD 100.

Well judging by subsequent comments my numbers and opinion was not so far out.

You might make £17k on the car if you leave the lights and wheels and based upon the great service history, care, etc.
£3k for the super and £500 for seats and you're not far off the number you want.

£500 for seats
I paid £1700 inc p&p for these last year from Germany........ maybe that's my bad :) I think those who have the standard all know how bad the standard seats are anyone who has upgrade or bought a Z4M will confirm it completly change the driving experience, at least I can now stay in my seat when cornering. I also find them more comfortable on a longer drive due to the leg support.

How much is an item worth second hand - it's always a real challenge. . If they buy they have to consider shipping or driving to collect, say £100. You P&P is a sunk cost. 30% after 12 months may be right.

I purchased a complete leather interior for my daughters KA last year for about £200 (fr & Rr seats, door cards, steering wheel, gear knob, gaiters, etc.)

An 'as new' 2006 front end for my Z4 at £50 a few weeks ago

I just brought a pair of X5 headlights on Ebay last night for £25.75 the pair. They retail at £350 each

Bottom line is they're worth as much or as little as someone will pay.

Please don't take my comments the wrong way I'm just very aware of how much I've lost (and saved by buying them) over the years on upgraded items.

(So I suppose an offer of £1000 is out of the question on the sc...lol)

No offense taken at all.... that's the point of this thread :)

The seats were used, but only for 1000 miles or so.

As I say, not like I am desperate to get rid of it, if the money adds up then great......

heres a nice loaded 3.0 (admitedly higher mileage) but its not sold yet at £14,500
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/226017.htm

Not trying to be disrespectful in any way, just the prices are coming down, the guy I know's wouldnt shift until he dropped it to 15k (40,000 miles).

If you get someone who really likes the mods you may be ok cos you really have looked after it, if your in no hurry to sell you could place an advert as standard and see what level of interest you get, just say its sold to everyone who rings up but at least you'll know where youre at

Had a few enquiries about the seats.

I have to state that I would need to swap seats, standard for M Sport plus cash as I don't have my original. Therefore we'd need to meet somewhere to do so, not ideal as I am up in Aberdeen.

They would also need to be black, heated and electric :) :)

Jeez, I bought my car at 2 years old for £24.5K just over two years ago. I was hoping at this point depreciation was slowing down. £10K in two years, ouch!!

As for trying to sell it, well I'd have to remove the supercharger, then if it doesn't sell I'd be stuck with a bog standard Z4, not a situation I want to be in, so slow :p :) LOL

Strange since the conversions I would do over time are:
Supercharger (If I could do it without my wife seeing the cash vanish)

Clear 2005 Xenon headlights to complement the changed front end

Perhaps the seats, but I'd not really thought of it

I also have black electric, heated and memory seats on a 2003 3.0i...
